On April 13th, China Cultural Centre in Mauritius organized the closing ceremony of Tai Chi and martial arts class, which was attended by about 60 trainees and people from the martial arts sector, and Yang Jun, Director of Mauritius Chinese Cultural Centre, attended and delivered a speech.
Yang Jun firstly congratulated the participants for successfully completing the Taiji and martial arts class. He said that martial arts is an important part of Chinese culture and carries the profound traditional Chinese culture and spirit. The ideas of unity of heaven and man, Yin and Yang dialectical thought, self-improvement, unity of knowledge and action, and humility and courtesy in Chinese culture permeate the martial arts. Martial arts learning is an important way to experience Chinese culture, and martial arts has also become an important link between China and Mauritius in terms of humanistic exchanges. Since the establishment of the Mauritius Chinese Cultural Center, the teaching of martial arts has been taken as an important training content. He hoped that through learning, the trainees can become the seeds of promoting Chinese excellent traditional culture and pass the credible, lovely and honorable image of China to more people in Mauritius.
Before the completion ceremony, a promotional video "Hello China" ——the 2024 Grand Canal Theme Tourism Overseas Promotion Season tourism promotional video was shown before the ceremony, allowing the participants to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Grand Canal of China. At the ceremony, after the martial arts teachers and outstanding students showed their teaching and learning achievements respectively, Yang Jun awarded certificates of completion to the representatives of the students.
The current Tai Chi and martial arts class started in October 2023 and will last for 5 months, with a total of about 120 students.
