On October 17, Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping met with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Maja GOJKOVIĆ and Mongolian Minister of Natural Environment and Tourism J. Bat-Erdene in Beijing.
Hu Heping said at the meeting with Maya Gojkovic that under the guidance of the two heads of state, China-Serbia comprehensive strategic partnership has thrived and we have achieved fruitful results in our cooperation in tourism. Serbia has celebrated the “Happy Spring Festival” for many years, which has played a positive role in promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Since Serbia and China signed the visa exemption agreement, the number of tourists of the two countries has increased rapidly. The cultural centers are crucial windows and effective platforms for cultural exchanges and cooperation. Next, the two sides will continue to support each other in operating cultural centers and make them play an important role. Hu expressed the hope that the two sides will jointly implement the Global Civilization Initiative, carry out cooperation on the “Cultural Silk Road” project within the framework of the “Belt and Road”, work together to promote people-to-people exchanges, strengthen mutual learning among civilizations, and build an open and inclusive community with a shared future for mankind.
Maya Gojkovic said that Serbia and China enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges. In recent years, exchanges and cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative have been steadily promoted, and cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism has been continuously deepened. The cultural departments of the two countries have actively implemented a series of projects within the framework of the 2021-2024 Cultural cooperation plan and achieved fruitful results. Many activities organized by the Serbian Cultural Center in Beijing have been well received by the Chinese people. It is hoped that the departments of the two countries will renew the annual cooperation plan, further expand the scope and enrich the content of cooperation.
After the meeting, the two sides signed Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Serbia on Preventing Theft, Clandestine Excavation and illicit Import and Export of Cultural Property.
Hu Heping said in his meeting with Bat-Erdene that China and Mongolia are good neighbors, good friends as well as good partners joined by common mountains and rivers. In recent years, high-level visits between the two countries were frequent and pivotal consensus was reached on jointly promoting modernization and building a China-Mongolia community with a shared future featuring peaceful coexistence, mutual assistance and win-win cooperation. Tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and Mongolia is an important part of the friendly relations between the two countries. China is ready to work with Mongolia to continue to practice the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, jointly promote the Global Civilization Initiative, strengthen cooperation in policy communication, tourism promotion and personnel training. Mongolia is going to continuously enrich the connotation of China-Mongolia cultural and tourism exchanges, and further the friendship between the two peoples. In order to deepen mutual trust, friendship and cooperation, China has made contributions to the progress of China-Mongolia relations.
J. Bat-Erdene said that Mongolia attached great importance to cooperation with China in tourism, and the two countries boasted huge potential in developing tourism, and looked forward to strengthening policy coordination and experience exchanges and deepening pragmatic cooperation. The three years from 2023 to 2025 are Years of Visits in Mongolia, and we sincerely welcome Chinese tourists to visit Mongolia. Mongolia is willing to join hands with China to continuously boost tourism exchanges and cooperation and provide more solid cultural support for promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
After the meeting, the two sides signed the Agreement Between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Mongolia on Deepening Tourism Cooperation.
