From the 12th to the 14th of May 2023, "Beautiful China 2023: Welcoming Diplomatic Envoys to China to Baoji City", the diplomatic visit event co-hosted by Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World and the Party Committee and People's Government of Baoji Prefecture Level City, officially kicked off in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province.
Diplomatic envoys from 20 countries, including Namibia, Albania, Ecuador, Malaysia, Thailand, Mauritius, Georgia, and Iran, will attend the opening ceremony of the 12th Baoji City Culture and Tourism Festival, the Baoji City Tourism Promotion Exposition, and the opening ceremony of the 2023 Northwest China Tourism Marketing Conference. The diplomatic envoys to China will be appointed as tourism brand ambassadors of Baoji City and be taken on a tour to the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum, the Shi-ku Garden in China, and the Baoji Folk Museum to experience the profound and rich cultural heritage of Baoji City.
Known as "Chencang" in ancient times, Baoji City boasts a long history, deep heritage, and rich cultures, in addition to beautiful ecological environments, holding a wealth of tourism resources with distinct regional and geographical advantages. As for local speciality, Baoji is home to Xifeng Liquor, Qishan noodles with minced pork, Xifu hand-pulled noodles, and Wenwang pot helmet; it is also the birthplace of the father of Chinese civilization, Emperor Yan, as well as an important place of origin of Chinese culture and the Zhou and Qin Dynasty Civilization and where Bao Xue (the School of Baoji) is located. Baoji City is also the hometown of Chinese bronze ware, Chinese Shehuo, Chinese Clay Sculpture, Chinese folk art and crafts, as well as a National Civilized City, a Chinese Charming City, a Chinese-Brand Economic City, a Top Chinese Food City, a National Healthy City, a National Forest City, a National Garden City, a National Model City for Environmental Protection. It is the recipient of the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honor Award, the China Environment Award, and the China Habitat and Environment Award; it is one of China's Top Tourist Cities, hosting a National Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration Zone; it has been chosen as the Best Destination City for Culture, Leisure, and Tourism in China, honored as the Chinese City with the Most International Tourist Influence, ranked as one of the Top 100 Chinese Cities with Tourism Competitiveness, and selected as one of China's Excellent Tourist Destination City.
