On the morning of April 16, the Beijing Pinggu World Leisure Congress opened at the Jinhai Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center in Pinggu District. Cai Qi, Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee, declared the opening of the Congress. Hu Heping, Vice Minister of the Central Propaganda Department and Minister of Culture and Tourism, Chen Jining, Deputy Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Beijing Municipality made speeches, and the leaders of Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World were present.

Before the opening of the Congress, Cai Qi met with Joanne Schroeder, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the World Leisure Organization via video, and Hu Heping and Chen Jining attended the meeting together. Cai Qi, Hu Heping, Chen Jining and other leaders of the relevant departments of the Central Government and leaders of Beijing Municipality also visited the exhibition of the World Leisure Congress, and they came to the exhibition area of the First International Leisure Lifestyle Cases Award, the China International Intelligence Game Challenge, the Literature and Tourism Pinggu Exhibition Area, the Pinggu Characteristic Bed and Breakfast Exhibition Area, the exhibition area of the CYTS Holding Company, and the Huawei Exhibition Area, etc, to inspect the display of leisure tourism and leisure culture products. With the theme of "Leisure Enhances the Quality of Life" and the combination of "offline + online", this year's conference will hold one main forum, 14 parallel sub-forums, the China (Beijing) International Leisure Industry Expo, and nine featured leisure activities, showcasing to the world a leisure event with an international perspective, Chinese culture, Beijing's heritage, and Pinggu's characteristics.
