Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Qin Gang and Secretary General of the Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a governmental institution for foreign affairs, is one of departments in charge of foreign affairs within the State Council. It handles and deals with foreign matters between the People’s Republic of China and other governments and international organizations in the world. Its responsibilities include implementing the stat’s diplomatic principles and policies and related laws and regulations; safeguarding national sovereignty, security and interests on behalf of the state; running diplomatic affairs on behalf of the state and the government; and handling diplomatic activities between leaders of the CPC and the state with foreign leaders. It is also taking change of overseeing the state’s foreign-related protocol and ceremonial affairs; overseeing the protocol arrangements of important diplomatic activities of the state; and overseeing the courteous reception, diplomatic privileges and immunities accorded to foreign diplomatic missions in China.
