In press conference during his visit to China, Zurab Pololikashvili, secretary general of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), has introduced its current priorities, the development of China’s tourism industry and cooperation in the fields of tourism and culture between UNWTO and China .

Zurab Pololikashvili said that current focus of the UNWTO includes three parts, which are tourism education, tourism innovation and tourism investment. UNWTO consists of 156 countries and each of them should interconnect one another. Since China plays an important role in UNWTO development and world tourism, he expected that advanced experience in China should be introduced to other countries through project cooperation with Chinese government in the future, thus better promoting and supporting the development of world tourism and tourism economy.

Over the past five years, China, he also said, has made great achievements in infrastructure construction which benefits tourism development.. Currently, tourism investment in China, especially in creating jobs, promoting economic development of tourist destinations and alleviating poverty, attains a good momentum. He hoped that One Belt and One Road Initiative could unite people of all countries to advance tourism undertakings.

He said, he has gained a lot after communicating with some Chinese tourism companies, and will collect relevant  suggestions to better serve Chinese overseas tourist .
